Kickstarter でコンパクトでポリなシンセサイザー SKULPT の開発資金募集がはじまってます（Modal Electronics SKULPT synthesiser – Kickstarter ）。既に目標金額は達成しており、現在は専用ハードカバーがもらえる第２のストレッチ目標に向けて爆進中。スタートして数日ですが勢いが凄いです。後述しますが、購入するならお早めに。
Modal Electronics SKULPT synthesiser
Modal Electronics SKULPT synthesiser は B5 サイズより少し小さいコンパクトなボディにでありながら４ボイスポリフォニックで演奏できるバーチャルアナログシンセサイザー。４ボイスに各８つのオシレーターをアサインできる。アルペジエーターやシーケンサーを搭載し、ディレイとディストーションエフェクトを搭載。小さいながら MIDI ポートも搭載している。なかなか可愛い。サウンドデモもいい感じ。

- 8つのソースと37のアサイン先を持つ 8スロットモジュレーションマトリクス
- フィルタ、アンプ、モジュレーション用の 3つのエンベロープジェネレータ

資金募集は 8月12日まで、製品出荷は 11月を予定しています。
支援する（買う）人はお早めに
プロジェクト目標額は £50,000（約740万円）で既に達成、成立している。現在は目標額の２倍のストレッチゴールが公開されており、達成により専用カバー（上につけるとカバー、下につけると SKULPT が水平になる）が提供さます。これも達成するだろうから、次は何が出てくるか楽しみ。専用バッグあたりが欲しいな。
プレッジ（リワード付きの）は、£5：ステッカー、£25：Ｔシャツ、£249：SKULPT synth（EU居住者以外）、£274：SKULPT synth（EU居住者）、£329：SKULPT synth + CRAFTrhythm（EU居住者以外）、£394：SKULPT synth + CRAFTrhythm（EU居住者）などが提供されています。
もっと早く紹介すべきだったんだけど、£249：SKULPT synth（EU居住者以外）は50個数量限定で残りは 14台、購入するならば早めがいい。限定個数をオーバーすると購入価格が高くなっていく仕組みになっている（先行者特典ね）。僕も１台プレッジしているけど EARLY BIRD Modal SKULPT Bundle (Non-EU) で £208 でした。

ポイントは、プレッジする時には EARLY BIRD とは書いてなかったんですよ。だから「お急ぎ」感がなかった。次の日見てみたら資金目標達成してるじゃん、と。このプロジェクトは開始前から話題になっていたんだけど、IK Multimedia UNO Synth に似てるねー、なんてツイートしている場合じゃなかったね（笑）。
日本にはあまり馴染みがない Modal Electronics
本プロジェクトを立ち上げているのは素人の若者達ではない。Modal Electronics はイギリスのシンセサイザーメーカー。2000年の設立以来、アナログシンセサイザーを中心に製品をリリースしている。日本ではなかなかお目にかかれないシンセサイザーで、知ってるけど弾いたことがないメーカー。
資金調達しながらシンセサイザーを開発する、というのは小さいメーカーにはいいんだろうけどね。リスクが小さいんだから、チャレンジングな製品をどんどん出してもらいたいです。

From the Modal team we want to just say a huge THANK YOU to all the amazing backers for our SKULPT – we are all overwhelmed by the support from around the World, and cannot believe that we’re 170% funded in just three days from starting the campaign! In case you missed our announcement, the means we’re already over half way to our first stretch goal, bringing the SKULPT lid as standard – we’re all really hoping this happens for everyone.
We’ve taken onboard several great suggestions from people, including adding in polychaining to the SKULPT OS, to allow multiple SKULPT’s to combine their voices, and added even more countries to the list of destinations we can send your pledges to. Please do keep your suggestions coming – we’re loving the dialogue Kickstarter allows between us and you, the guys and girls who are going to use SKULPT to make great music.
We’re also so pleased that the ‘Donate Two SKULPT’s to Drake Music’ rewards were all taken in the first day! This means six Modal SKULPT’s will be among the very first to go to Drake enabling them to help disabled musicians around the UK.

So, it’s happening…
SKULPT synthesiser has officially been funded within the first few hours. Which means we can now start to show some of the exciting stretch goals we have lined up for you…

Our FIRST stretch goal is to include a protective cover for every Modal SKULPT synthesiser when we reach 200% funded. The cover can also be fitted underneath the base to provide a flat stand for your SKULPT synthesiser.

The protective cover has always been a part of the SKULPT synthesiser design, but it is an expensive part to produce and requires significant upfront tooling costs. Therefore, we require 200% of our kickstarter goal to be able to make the cover financially viable to manufacture for every SKULPT synthesiser we produce.
We have a few more stretch goals lined up waiting to be revealed as well if we manage to reach this one!

We are incredibly happy to announce that the campaign has been funded in four and a half hours! We are so grateful for all of your support and feedback.
But we’re not stopping here. We’re currently lining up a number of different stretch goals that will benefit all existing backers, which we will announce very soon.
