Deth Stranding をやっていて、ブログを書く時間が極端に少なくなってます。すいません。Reason Studio の最新バージョン、Reason 11.1 が AudioUnits（AUv2）に対応しました。また本バージョンで、macOS Catalina にも対応しました。
Reason 11.1
- Reason Rack Plugin is now available in AUv2 format
- Reason 11.1 and Reason Rack Plugin are now notarized and ready for macOS Catalina
- Added keyboard input to Reason Rack Plugin, you can now use Tab, Delete, Enter, cmd/ctrl+z and the arrow keys.

- Fixed a bug where invisible notes could be accidentally clicked in multi-lane editing
- Fixed a bug where some Players would skip the first note in Reason Rack Plugin

あたり。バグフィックスを読むと最初のノートを発音しなかったり、Kong のコンプがうまく作動しなかったり（思った）と、安定性が心配だが、まぁ、11.1 です。
Reason 11.1 の VST3 と AudioUnits が動作するか、Digital Performer 10 で検証してみた。検証に使ったのは MOTU DP 10.01-79936 。
VST3 は相変わらず使えない
これは、MOTU DP10 のインプリメントの問題かもしれないが、VST3 ではインストゥルメントのリストに現れない。裏技でミキサー画面から呼び出すことはできるが、まぁ、使えないと思っていい。MOTU DP10 を VST3 モードで使っている人はほとんどいないと思うけど。
AudioUnits
ちゃんと動く。VST3 の裏技のような MIDI の遅れもない。ほっと胸をなでおろす感じ。これがきちんと動かないと Reason 11 を買った意味がなくなる。ベースにオートメーションを使ってみたが、これも動く。こんな感じ。

オーディオパフォーマンスが少しピーキーになるようだけど、DP10 はタイミングとかプレロードしてタイミング合わせてくれるから問題なさそう。プラグインとしては重くはないが、軽くもない感覚。
Reason の使い道が大きく開けた
Reason は昔から使っているものの、使用頻度は著しく少なかった。KORG Gadget 同様に箱庭感覚というか、Reason のファイルデータさえあれば、誰の Reason でも同じパフォーマンスができるというのが魅力的だった。が、UI が複雑になったり VST に対応した頃から、Reason を使うのがかえって面倒になった。
一方で、Reason が搭載する音源は面白く、ドラム系はしっかりした音を出すし、シンセもなかなか（特にオートメーションが楽しい）。音源・エフェクトの外部リリースは開発元としては苦渋の決断だったと思うが、Europa のような面白いシンセサイザーを作れるならば、その開発力を生かして多くの人に使ってもらえばいいと思う。
ということで、Reason 11 は「買い」になりました。
